When I'm having a bit of a rubbish day and need cheering up, i like to do a few things that make me happy, just to try lighten my mood! I know it can be difficult when you are having a bad day to do anything but stay in bed all day feeling sorry for yourself, but once you break the habit, it gets that little bit easier!
Here are 5 things that make me happy
1. Making myself a nice cuppa tea and grabbing a few biscuits and taking myself to the sofa to just sit for a little while to wind down. Tea solves everything!
2. Putting on one of my favourite movies or TV shows and having a nice little marathon. Who cares if you sit there for hours? Who cares if you are still in your PJ's? Just relax.
3. Running a nice hot bath. I'll whack my hair up in a bun, get a nice warm fluffy towel. Light some candles. Some fresh pyjamas. Slippers. Make sure its a nice big bubbly bath.
4. Reading one of my favourite books. Making a little comfy corner with my duvet and blankets or getting comfy on the sofa. Just sitting there for an hour or so with a good book can really take your mind off things. I find it so relaxing!
5. As weird as this may sound, i find tidying up and clearing out my room really rewarding. I can't stand having a messy room. Even just opening the windows, having a quick hoover and changing the bedding can be enough to do it. Tidy room, tidy mind.
6. Drawing. Colouring. Writing. It's a great way to take your mind off things. Even if i am just writing down a load of rubbish or just scribbling on a bit of paper, it can be much more therapeutic than you think!
7. Going out and getting some fresh air. Taking my dog out in the garden or out for a walk. Just being out of the house can do you the world of good.
8. Cooking/ordering my favourite food. You can't think on an empty stomach. So i love to either order in my favourite food, or i'll attempt to cook something if i know its something i like! Even if it means me popping to the shop just to get those bag of crisps that i want, i'll do it.
