The Bodyguard Musical

Some of you may or may not know that the ever so popular The Bodyguard Musical, that ended its run in London last year and is now embarking on a national tour! The tour kicked off in Southampton this month and is going to be making its way around the country this year and into next!
The Bodyguard is one of my all-time favourite films. My mum has always been a big Whitney fan, so i grew up with her music. My mum took me to see The Bodyguard in London for the first time in 2013 just a few months after its opening night. I fell in love with the play and really wanted to see it again! Much to my delight, it was announced that Tristan Gemmill; one of my favourite actors, was going to be taking on the role of Frank Farmer and i could not have been happier! Tristan took on the role of Frank from September 2013 until the final curtain in August 2014.
Such a handsome Bodyguard!
You may know Tristan from his role of Adam Trueman in Casualty (2007-2011)
I waited for a while until i started looking at tickets again to see the performance. All the reviews were pilling up and it was all looking brilliant...Tristan had been in the show a few months and then another announcement hit! X-Factors very own Alexandra Burke was going to be the lead role, Rachel Marron! This was it for me, i was straight online and looking up dates and tickets!
The night finally came,  i was going to be seeing not one, but TWO of my favourite people up on stage performing together! The show was as always, AMAZING! Of course it reduced me to tears, it gets me every time. The chemistry between Alex and Tristan was just phenomenal. They really bounced off each other and the night was faultless! I was lucky enough to be able to meet BOTH of them at the stage door after the show! I must say i was very star struck! Yes, Tristan is even more beautiful in person!
I knew the show would some be coming to a close and i managed to get my hands on 2 tickets for the final night! I was over the moon to be able to attend such a memorable night for the show, cast and crew. The night went out with a bang! It was oh so emotional. Alex had a few emotional moments but it was the end that got to me. It came to 'I Will Always Love You' and Alex had to take a moment to look around and compose herself and that was it, i was off, sobbing like a baby! The energy in the room for 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' was electric! I left the theatre that night like an emotional wreck! I was so sad for the incredible run to be over.
Of course, i had to wait at the stage door to congratulate them both on their incredible performances and  thank them for an unforgettable time. After a long time queuing, i got my picture with Tristan and thanked him for stopping and being so nice. He is such a gentleman, i really do hope he is back in the limelight soon! The queen of the night, Alex finally came out and everyone was going mad, cameras flashing left, right and centre! Thanks Al! She is the kindest person i have ever met! She took the time to see everyone who was waiting and done any pictures/autographs!
Its safe to say that i have had the most incredible time going to see the show multiple times and i can not wait to see it again TONIGHT in Southampton  and Cardiff in June! As excited as i am, i must say i am a little bit gutted that Tristan is no longer our Frank Farmer, it shall be strange seeing someone else up there. We are welcoming Mr Stuart Reid as our new Bodyguard and i'm looking forward to see what he has in store for us! I feel an update may be necessary after i've seen the show! If any of you have the time i can not recommend this enough, you will not be disappointed!!

I know this has been a bit of a long post but it truly is one of the greatest things i have ever experienced and i really wanted to share it!

Until next time,

-N
