I feel like I have been a bit MIA recently and have really neglected my blog and it is for no reason other than my head has just not been in the right place. Im still not sure where it's been but I think it's kind of coming back to me now. It's wrong to feel guilty for neglecting certain things in your life but sometimes it is just necessary to take a step back and just deal with the things at hand. I had plenty of time to sit and think (probably too much time) and I think that i've come to some reasonable revelations that I thought i'd share with you.
It's okay to...wake up in the morning and want to spend the whole day lying in bed.
It's okay to...remove yourself from a situation you don't feel comfortable in.
It's okay to...run for the hills, for a little while. Just make sure once you're done you come back.
It's okay to...turn your phone off and shut yourself off from the world for a few hours or a day.
It's okay to...cancel plans if you no longer feel like participating. Your friends will understand.
It's okay to...buy those shoes and that top you've been eyeing up. You deserve a treat.
It's okay to...take a mental health day. If you need to take a day off from school/work, then thats what you need to do.
It's okay to...watch 3 sad movies in a row and just cry your heart out.
It's okay to...get in the car and just go for a drive to clear your head.
It's okay to...cuddle up with your pet and watch a whole season of your favourite show.
What I'm trying to say is you know what you need to do to cope with your day. Don't let anyone tell you that what you're doing is not okay and it will not help you. If it helps you through a bad day that's all you need to worry about. Not everyone will understand but if they care about you, in time they will begin to understand what you need to do for you. Just make sure what you are doing is safe, please don't hurt yourself - easier said than done I know but it honestly is not the answer. You just have to get through TODAY. Today is the only thing that matters. Not yesterday, not tomorrow. Today. If you get through today then you have already won half of the battle. Now you just need to try and do exactly the same tomorrow.
